Headbands and Barrettes are Making a Comeback
It seems that the ’90s have found their way back into the fashion mainstream as the once popular headbands can be seen in some new 2018 collections. For example, headbands proudly paraded on Karl Lagerfeld’s 2018 Chanel Cruise Show.
We believe that it all started during Couture Week, after Jen Atkin, Kendall Jenner’s stylist, styled her hair with a headband. Soon after that, headbands started popping up on runways more and more. And now, numerous models, as well as Instagram fashion trend setters, are rocking headbands in all possible colors and designs.
And why not? Headbands are easy to put on, allow you to go from a “just woke up” to “ready to go” mode in a matter of seconds, and they can also be combined with the rest of your outfit for a jazzed up appearance.
Another example that what goes around comes around are barrettes. It all started with Bella Hadid, after her LA label Chrome Hearts barrettes launch. This collection is focused on the ‘90s, and she proudly wore a pair of straight-pin, white barrettes, showing how with minimum effort you can achieve maximum impact. Her chocolate brown hair offers an excellent contrast to the white color of the barrettes. So if you have light colored hair, you should opt for dark colored barrettes.
This look hasn’t gone unnoticed on Instagram as new pictures of influential fashion bloggers wearing all kinds of barrettes are just popping out each day. You can even see Miley Cyrus wearing a pink snap clip when she was a guest on the famous Carpool Karaoke hosted by James Corden.
